Chester Bed & Breakfast is a perfect place to have your Wedding. We offer an outstanding location for a beautiful outdoor wedding for up to 150 guests, located very near Charlottesville, Virginia and the University of Virginia.
Our specialty includes a wide variety of wedding services and wedding planning to help you to create an elegant affair that reflects your wishes and hopes. We gladly take care of all of the details so that you can focus on your Wedding day.

Your Ceremony
There are several beautiful outdoor locations on Chester’s grounds that are appropriate for a wedding ceremony. From the tranquil beauty of our rose garden or the peaceful setting of the patio pond to the front lawn shaded by majestic trees, you are sure to find the place that fits your vision of the perfect outdoor venue. In case of inclement weather, weddings are moved to the reception tent on the lawn.
In addition, there are several historic churches in and around Scottsville, many of which are available for wedding ceremonies.
Your Reception
Your reception will be held in a garden tent adjacent to the main house. We can make your reception as formal or informal as you like, from hors d’oeuvres and cocktails or a casual buffet to a full sit-down dinner.
Our caterers provide fabulous, innovative food, experienced staff and delightful presentation.
We work with an excellent florist and bakery. Please ask us for recommendations and assistance with these items.
We will reserve a bartender for you upon request.

Lodging
So that your day belongs solely to you and is not interrupted by other guests, wedding costs include the rental of the inn for the entire weekend. Chester Bed & Breakfast can accommodate up to 14 overnight guests. Full gourmet breakfast for each guest is included in this fee.
Base Fee: $5,000 (inclusive of tax)
This fee includes exclusive use of the inn and grounds, two nights of accommodations and a gourmet breakfast
for up to ten people (additional guests must be accommodated in our cottage or elsewhere).
Wedding planning, reception planning, and clean-up are all included.
Our adjacent cottage can accommodate an additional four people - please inquire about rates for use of this space.
We work with
only a few vendors to ensure that the quality of service is consistently high. We can provide you with a
variety of selections for all aspects of your wedding. Although our base fee covers the planning, preparation and clean-up for the event, please take into account that there will be additional costs for the following items if they are to be included:
- Tent rental
- Dance floor rental
- Tables and chairs
- Linens, china, glassware and cutlery
- Flowers
- Wedding Cake
- Reception Catering
- Beverages
- Bartender Fees
- Entertainment
